i don’t think that you can develop perfect pitch when you want to. i think that you’re either born with it, or you develop it at an early age. but if you can train yourself to have perfect pitch then you’d preferably want a C instrument i guess. like a piano, violin guitar, organ, trombone, etc. i don’t think it matters if the timbre is different. i don’t think you should be concerned with developing perfect pitch either. it comes in handy in some cases, but having relative pitch is probably better. playing a transposing instrument would be easier for people with relative pitch, playing a song in a different key won’t bother you. either way, you can do what you want with the info. i just gave you.
